New benchmark in four-season tyres: the Vredestein Quatrac 5
Advanced tread design:
The new Vredestein Quatrac 5 is characterised by the sleek, asymmetrical design of the tread - a sophisticated symbiosis of winter and summer tyres. The profile on the summer side, with reduced air ratio, ensures excellent handling, great steering precision and plenty of lateral grip on dry and wet road surfaces. The winter side, which deploys sophisticated sipe technology, ensures exceptional grip on cold or snowy surfaces. Another striking feature is the asymmetrical outer longitudinal groove, the edges of which are placed at different angles in the tyre tread. This further optimises the stiffness of the tyre, resulting in greater stability and enhanced handling on dry road surfaces.
New technology:
3D Grip Claws Several new technologies make their debut in the Vredestein Quatrac 5, such as the 3D Grip Claws. Arranged between the sipes in the middle of the tyre, they ensure perfect grip on bends and make it possible to accelerate quickly, even on snowy and icy roads.
Full Silica Compound:
Another new aspect of the Vredestein Quatrac 5 is the Full Silica tread compound mix, which is characterised by a special polymer composition. This ensures a high degree of resistance to wear – making for a long lifespan – while the even distribution of pressure results in an even wear pattern.
Technology:
Innovative tread design: with an asymmetrical outer longitudinal groove for greater stability and enhanced handling on dry surfaces.
3D Grip Claws: great grip when cornering, faster acceleration on snow and ice.
Clever and attractive design: with unique summer and winter sides: optimised performance in all conditions.
Green EU tyre label: low rolling resistance, short braking distances on wet surfaces, exceptionally quiet operation.
Innovative Full Silica Compound: durability and long lifespan.
The European Union has introduced the EU Tyre Label by Regulation (No. 1222/2009) identically and bindingly for all EU member states. It applies to passenger car tyres, light commercial vehicle tyres and heavy commercial vehicle tyres produced after 01.07.2012.
Three different areas are tested: rolling resistance, wet grip and the rolling noise the tyre makes on the road.
The following are not affected by the EU Tyre Label: retreaded tyres, professional off-road tyres, racing tyres, tyres with additional devices to improve traction such as spiked tyres, T-type emergency tyres, special tyres for fitting to vehicles first registered before 1 October 1990, tyres with a maximum authorised speed of 80 km/h, tyres for rims with a nominal diameter of 254 mm or less or 635 mm or more.
With this regulation, the European Union is pursuing the goal of promoting economic and ecological efficiency in road traffic as well as increasing road safety on the one hand, and on the other hand, granting consumers more product transparency and at the same time serving as an active decision-making aid.
Already during the incorporation, experts criticise the fact that the EU Tyre Label unfortunately only shows a few product characteristics. Apart from rolling resistance, wet grip and rolling noise, which are the main focus of EU tyre labelling, tyres have much more important and safety-relevant product characteristics, such as aquaplaning properties, driving stability, service life, braking properties on dry and wet roads, behaviour in wintry conditions, etc.
Tyre manufacturers point out that test results from various institutions and journals remain an important information medium for the end consumer. These tests usually focus on further safety-relevant product characteristics besides the EU standard qualifications for tyre labelling, which are always important for the final customer.

07.12.2022fromJohn Oates I noted a vibration when over 60 MPH on the motorway, a few days after the tyres were fitted and balanced.
i took them for rebalancing, but this did not stop the vibration sensed through the steering wheel.
Jacking up the front wheels I found that one tyre had a flat spot about 70mm long and 3 mm deep.
Instead of returning this for replacement it was quicker and more convenient to switch the tyre from front to back, the vibration was then not noticeable on the steering wheel.
I have had this brand and type for years and this was the first problem.
09.09.2020fromAlan Quiet and reliable. Roadholding is very good and wear appears low. I had previously fitted two of the same tyre to the rear and this was to complete the set. Very pleased
18.05.2020fromEdu Pole Really excellent in the dry for an all-season tyre. Very progressive handling, too.
Even at the Nordschleife racetrack they were unvelievable.
Infinite amount of grip, you can feel your eyes about to exit your head when braking for every corner.
See my video on Youtube with them: Peugeot 205 1.1i (60 HP) - Nürburgring Nordschleife BTG lap in 10'19" on all-season tyres.
20.04.2020fromP. Tanner These tyres perform very well.
The grip on both wet and dry roads is excellent, I did not use them in snow.
They are not unduly noisy.
The tyre wear and fuel consumption is as expected.
There is no comparison to the Falken Euroall Season tyres which were fitted last year, which had very poor grip in all road conditions.
