The best winter / wet and all round tyre with exceptional grip in wet conditions, quiet & safe I have ever used. Not the cheapest but worth every penny, will definitely use again without any doubt.

Have tried lots of different snow tyres over years and put these on my 3 series touring to replace the Pirelli zero’s. If anything I thought they ran quieter than the zero’s and plenty of grip in both dry and wet conditions. Used the in snow as well and kept everything moving which is all you want from a snow tyre.
15.01.2026 from James
As my Volvo is a rear wheel drive automatic I always use winter tyres. Previously had Goodyear ultra grip 9 and still have them on the front. New Goodyear ultra grip 3 on rear. We're great in the recent snow, where front wheel drives were getting stuck, no doubt on summer tyres.
11.01.2025 from Andy Duff
An extremely sure-footed winter tyre that blurs the transition from my summer to winter wheels. As good as it gets.

30.04.2021 from Paul
Just avoid, unless you live in Finland or something. Driving in WET and Dry, just terrible grip and I have a 4x4 Subaru with LSD. It's shocking really. Unless you drive really slow, it's OK then, but come roundabout they just don't grip doesn't matter wet or dry. Good in snow, but it should be at least good in wet as well and OK in dry, but It's crap in both wet and dry, so not good for me, will not buy again.
05.06.2019 from Ash
I didn't get these on until Feb/Mar when worst of the weather had passed. Driven on main roads & motorways at temps between 3°c and 16°c in mixed weather without problems. Obviously they were less responsive at the higher temps but never felt dangerous. No sign of wear at all. Dry road grip when accelerating lost traction a bit too easily but cornering was predictable.

An excellent tyre, superb traction in snow, very predictable grip on wet corners, will definitely buy again when these wear out, which maybe a long time as they are lasting well.
27.12.2014 from PMullen
I have used these tyres on previous cars and find them excellent winter tyres. I believe everyone in the UK should fit winter tyres for the winter season.
24.12.2014 from Adrian
I keep them on all year round, just have to take it a bit easier on the hot days in summer.

I purchased these tyres from recommendations. They were on my car for 6 months and have performed faultlessly. Considering my car is a 2.5 tonnes and 340bhp, they have really impressed with their performance in all conditions through the UK winter. I would definitely recommend and buy again myself. I would imagine I will get at very minimum another winter from them, maybe even 2.

24.06.2024 from Des
Great tyres , good all round grip, as I live in Scotland the seasons change every 5mins, with plenty of rain & the odd bit of snow , I do some off road driving and never got the car stuck, I do run this type of tyre all year round , but as the car is quite light I always change my tyres when they get down to 3mm , I think this is far safer ,
01.04.2024 from Robert
The tyres perform unbelievably well. Braking and grip in the wet is just phenomenal. Outstanding performance. Superb and consistent grip in heavy persistent rain along French motorway to the UK, long and short journeys.
16.05.2023 from Racer 1974
I went for the BMW approved (star marked) Blizzak and I’m very happy with the tyres. I’ve had Conti Winter Contact on previous cars and in regular use I would say the Blizzak is very comparable. The car retains decent steering feel and traction on wet and dry roads plus offers a far greater level of grip on snow/slush over a regular tyre. Ride comfort seems pretty much unchanged, as always with winters there is a little more noise but it’s slight and after 5 minutes you don’t notice! Fuel consumption does increase very slightly over the summer tyres BUT that could be down to the cold weather as much as the tyres!
11.05.2023 from Sam Summers
I bought these so that I wouldn't have any mishaps during the winter in my beloved car. I was worried that it would be a nightmare to drive in the snow due to being rear wheel drive and its power. I put these tyres on the front and different winter tyres on the rear and never had any problems at all - very surprised and impressed!

Unfortunately, I lost 3 of the 4 tyres to pot holes in fairly quick succession. It would seem that a combination of the very low profile 50, and presumably a softer tyre construction, makes them unsuitable for the potholed roads that are all too common in the UK

About Michelin Tyres And Introduction To Michelin Winter Tyres

Michelin is a very popular French tyre manufacturing company. It has its headquarters in Clermont-Ferrand in France. The tyre company was founded in 1889 and is the second largest tyre manufacturing company in the world. This tyre company manufactures tyres to suit bicycles, motorcycles, automobiles, aircrafts, space shuttles and heavy equipment vehicles. It has over 69 facilities spread all over the world in 18 different countries. Michelin was the first to introduce the run flat tyre in 1934 that would run on a special foam even when the tyre is punctured. The right suited Michelin winter tyres for your cars are the Alpin range tyres. This is a particularly useful snow tyre if you are witnessing regular harsh winter road conditions. These ice tyres offer a smooth and comfortable ride on snowy roads with excellent wet grip and traction.

Michelin Winter Tires

How To Choose Michelin Winter Tyres?

If you are regularly driving on snow and ice road conditions, then Michelin’s Alpin range tyres is most suited. These tyres offer price control and driving experience and do a decent job during severe winters. It is a very good idea to choose high quality snow tyres for your car according to the wheel size. Choosing a tyre profile that matches the wheel size is utmost important. The width, height, diameter, and the load and the speed indexes are important things to look into when choosing icy road tyres for your vehicle based on its wheels and rims. The Michelin winter tyres are designed and produced to meet the vagaries of the winter conditions. It undergoes severe winter road testing before the tyres are brought out in the market. You can buy high quality Michelin winter tyres from Tyres-outlet.ie.

Features To Look Out For In Michelin Winter Tyres

 • These all season tyres are offered in a new symmetric pattern that will ensure that the tyre performs at its optimum in wet, dry and snowy roads.
 • The central grooves of the Michelin winter tyres are designed to offer very low resistance. It offers aquaplaning resistance and therefore water gets repelled off its surface quickly.
 • There is use of latest tread compound layer to offer the right snow and ice grip and traction. This improved snow road performance takes the tyre performance to the next level.
 • These low profile tyres are made using a special tyre compound to improve the braking on snow road conditions. It also ensures lower fuel consumption.
