All season tyres - suitable for all weather conditions
All-season tyres are the perfect combination between summer and winter tyres. All-season tyres impress by their good driving qualities regardless the weather conditions and the road. The specially developed profile of all-season tyres ensures a comfortable drive throughout the whole year. All-season tyres were specifically designed for all weather conditions thus eliminating the need to change the tyres depending on the season. The all-season tyres designed for winter conditions need to have the "M + S" marking (or M & S, MS). Some models may also have the snowflake symbol. Identify the size of your tyre
The exact dimensions of a tyre can be found on the sidewall printed mark. The graphic shows how to read properties and dimensions of the tyre:

SPEED INDEX:
The speed index indicates the maximum speed intended for the tyre. Up to this value, the manufacturer guarantees optimum operation with the appropriate tyre pressure. The maximum speed allowed for this vehicle is given in the vehicle owner's manual; this information can be used to select the appropriate speed index for the tyre. The speed index is the last mark on the sidewall of the tyre.
 
Load Index
Permissible maximum axle load per tyre in kg. To be found in the registration certificate or vehicle registration document or read directly from the tyre (two-digit number). It is permitted to fit a tyre with a higher load index.
 
Driving safety despite puncture
Runflat tyres are puncture-resistant tyres with reinforced sidewalls. This creates the so-called run-flat property. In the event of damage, this allows the vehicle to continue driving up to a distance of approx. 100 km (and even beyond depending on the product) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, even if the pressure has been completely lost. Run-flat tyres even prevent the tyre rubber from jumping off the rim in the event of a loss of air pressure. A flat tyre is therefore still a flat tyre, but it loses some of its drama. Note: All run-flat tyres are marked with the symbol "RSC" (Runflat System Component) and may only be fitted in vehicles with a functioning air pressure control system!
 
Tyres with increased load capacity
Reinforced tyres are designed for higher loads than normal tyres. They can be identified by the designation 'RF' (reinforced) or also 'XL' or 'Extra Load'. They are used on vans, minibuses, off-road vehicles, etc. However, their mounting alone does not automatically result in higher load capacity but also requires a correspondingly higher air pressure. Furthermore, the load capacity index specified in the vehicle documents continues to apply.
 
Tyres with extra high load capacity
The "C" in the term C tyres stands for "commercial". These tyres are specially designed for commercial vehicles. These can be, for example, lighter trucks, delivery vans, flatbed trucks or panel vans. In other words: vehicles that have to move higher loads at a comparatively lower speed. The multi-ply reinforced C tyres are therefore even more load-bearing than reinforced tyres.
 
Mobility-optimised tyres
A tyre with a sealing layer on the opposite side of the tyre tread. In the event of a puncture (e.g. by a nail), this layer blocks any loss of air, even if the foreign body causing the puncture is still in the tyre. It is not necessary to stop or change the tyres immediately at the roadside.

The tires are much more supple than the OEM Bridgestone Ecopias. Ride is much improved. Wear seems better. Ecopias have little tread depth. No discernible change in economy. A great tyre and at about half the price. Have already bought another set for the future in case Dunlops become in short supply!

I have front set of 2 tires 1 year and around 20000km old, and rear set 6 months and around 10000km. Tyres are excellent for my car on dry and wet. There&#39;s not much snow in this part of England, but was some WET snow last winter and tyres were good on start and in curves but on braking just slide (wet snow i suppose). I have been on the road trip this summer 5000km+, and tyres aren&#39;t worn at all. Good grip in curves on motorway at high speed (up to 180 km/h) on dry and wet.

Car now relegated to daughters using it for general use. Fairly rural roads, with. mixed road surfaces. The XL rating of the tyre &amp; tread pattern is good for going up a farm track to where the pony has stable.

4 tyres fitted to a small Kangoo van. They perform well for a slow, tough little van/car that is used for ferrying building materials and going to and from building sites. I don&#39;t drive fast or try to push the van beyond it&#39;s limits. For this purpose the tyyes are very adequate.

Such an amazing tyre from Yokohama. Equally as good, if not better, than both Uniroyal and Yokohama winter tyres that I have used in the past. So much quieter too than winter tyres. Top rated traction on both snow and ice. I have passed taxi drivers and over enthusiastic prestige German car drivers trying to go up steep snow covered hills as the Yokohama BluEarth-4S AW21 just kept on going with confidence and tenacious grip. I would swear blind that my humble Skoda Octavia Combi was a 4 x 4 rather than FWD! I understand that this tyre is TUV Sud approved and I can totally as to understand why. Such good valve tyres so go and purchase some, you will not regret it!

I can&rsquo;t yet comment on grip in snow and ice, as I haven&rsquo;t yet driven it in those conditions, although I did buy these tyres to be able to drive in any conditions, all year round. These tyres are only on the front of the car, as these were the only All Season tyres of the correct size for the front of this car. The rear tyres are a larger size, and I have a different make of All Season tyres on the back. The car drive&rsquo;s perfectly with the tyres I have fitted, and it feels very grippy, and quiet, under all conditions. I am very impressed with these tyres and I&rsquo;m confident they will be excellent in snowy and icy conditions as well. It is too early to cont on wear and MPG, but that is not an issue for me.

Whilst the grip is good in snow, these tyres really struggle to get the torque down to the road from the the 1.4 Hybrid 215PS during acceleration when the surface is wet OR dry. It&#39;s particularly bad in the wet, where the wheels spin easily. Even on the electric motor drive only, a dab of the throttle to over 80% power sets the wheels spinning at low speed. The Michelin Pilot&#39;s that were fitted as standard have much better grip on the wet roads than the Nexen. Therefore I wouldn&#39;t class the Nexen as &quot;all season&quot;. It should really be classed as a winter tyre only. I wouldn&#39;t like to run these tyres all year round due to the inferior grip in most conditions (except snow of course). I wouldn&#39;t buy this brand if I wanted an all-weather tyre again. I&#39;d purchase a proper winter tyre and swap around in the seasons as I&#39;ve had to do with these anyway!

Overall good tyres. Slightly noisy but not to extend. This is what you would get from all-weather tyre - bit of all. Not most economical on fuel consumption again this is all-weather tyre which is not as good Michelin Cross climate but good for its price.

I am using xl 97v 205 55 16. Tyre is really good in terms of driving dynamics either in snow or dry. I am more satisfied then my hankook summer tyres installed by the car manufacturer in hot weather and did not observe any weakness in snow. No effect on fuel consumption. No sign of unusual wear. It shows little weakness in aquaplaning. Its major down side is noise. If the road surface is good noise level is acceptable , but as the surface gets worse noise levels becomes unbearable. Moreover I was very satisfied in terms of road noise with my older summer tyres of which have noise level rating of 71db. I would definitely by it for a better road noise insulated car but not with my current car.

The all-season tyres, as the name suggests, are products suitable for all types of seasons. This is to say that they have the mixed characteristics of winter and summer tyres. In this day and age, the majority of tyre manufacturers have given the 225/45 R17 all-season tyres, and other types of tyres suitable for all weather conditions, all the ability to adapt to the weather conditions throughout the year. This dimension is intended for the use of urban, compact, saloon, minivan and sports vehicles.

The tyres for all seasons can be mounted on cars and changed without endangering the safety, but only in case, you do not journey more than 6,000-9,000 miles per year, mainly in the city or on the plains. Is it a problem if you fit all-season tyres in winter? From a regulatory point of view, there is no problem if they are equipped with the M+S marking, necessary in case of cold or bad weather. However, the marker that identifies the tyres capability of offering a high-performance in the typical winter conditions is the snowflake that is in a mountain with three points (Three Peak Mountain Snow Flake or 3PMSF).
