Identify the size of your tyre
The exact dimensions of a tyre can be found on the sidewall printed mark. The graphic shows how to read properties and dimensions of the tyre:

SPEED INDEX:
The speed index indicates the maximum speed intended for the tyre. Up to this value, the manufacturer guarantees optimum operation with the appropriate tyre pressure. The maximum speed allowed for this vehicle is given in the vehicle owner's manual; this information can be used to select the appropriate speed index for the tyre. The speed index is the last mark on the sidewall of the tyre.
 
Load Index
Permissible maximum axle load per tyre in kg. To be found in the registration certificate or vehicle registration document or read directly from the tyre (two-digit number). It is permitted to fit a tyre with a higher load index.
 
Driving safety despite puncture
Runflat tyres are puncture-resistant tyres with reinforced sidewalls. This creates the so-called run-flat property. In the event of damage, this allows the vehicle to continue driving up to a distance of approx. 100 km (and even beyond depending on the product) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, even if the pressure has been completely lost. Run-flat tyres even prevent the tyre rubber from jumping off the rim in the event of a loss of air pressure. A flat tyre is therefore still a flat tyre, but it loses some of its drama. Note: All run-flat tyres are marked with the symbol "RSC" (Runflat System Component) and may only be fitted in vehicles with a functioning air pressure control system!
 
Tyres with increased load capacity
Reinforced tyres are designed for higher loads than normal tyres. They can be identified by the designation 'RF' (reinforced) or also 'XL' or 'Extra Load'. They are used on vans, minibuses, off-road vehicles, etc. However, their mounting alone does not automatically result in higher load capacity but also requires a correspondingly higher air pressure. Furthermore, the load capacity index specified in the vehicle documents continues to apply.
 
Tyres with extra high load capacity
The "C" in the term C tyres stands for "commercial". These tyres are specially designed for commercial vehicles. These can be, for example, lighter trucks, delivery vans, flatbed trucks or panel vans. In other words: vehicles that have to move higher loads at a comparatively lower speed. The multi-ply reinforced C tyres are therefore even more load-bearing than reinforced tyres.
 
Mobility-optimised tyres
A tyre with a sealing layer on the opposite side of the tyre tread. In the event of a puncture (e.g. by a nail), this layer blocks any loss of air, even if the foreign body causing the puncture is still in the tyre. It is not necessary to stop or change the tyres immediately at the roadside.

Original fitment on the Panda 4x4 and replaced with a new set. The only winter tyre readily available that is not directional so does not sacrifice forward and uphill traction for braking ability and ability to reverse out of trouble. A serious winter tyre for mobility in the worst conditions as opposed to speeding round in the cold and wet. Perfect for this car and our use and would not fit anything else at present.

Probably the WORST tires I ever had in any of my cars. From 4X4 (Japanese, Americans, British and the Military Portuguese UMM) to 3.5T Pick-Ups (from the company I run) or sportive ones (Porsche, Mazda, BMW). Expensive tires, they were DANGEROUS since the beginning with Aquaplane, Ice and Snow. A Nightmare in MUD! Besides noisy and, after 10.000 Kms they already were with half of the drawing. NEVER AGAIN! Michelin or Bridgestone. Not BFGoodrich just because they get dead quite fast too. And they are now expensive (more than the other two brands) without explanation. A last detail, my driving it's Scandinavian style: calm, secure and saving mechanic and fuel.

These tyres were original equipment fitted by Land rover, for the nine year's i have owned the vehicle,I have used this model of tyre. They have never let us down and perform well in snow, rain or sun shine. The only down side being the cost.

My style of driving consist of response driving to towing a caravan and leisure driving so I do quite a wide variety. I use winter tyres all year round they are better on wet surfaces don&#39;t last as long but give you more confidence in cornering, braking and when you encounter deep puddles. Has we do in the country with all the pot holes my wife used them all year to. In winter i do carry snow chains but have not used them.

I&rsquo;ve put these tyres through rock, mud, snow/ice, severe storms etc and they are great for the money. I&rsquo;ve done over 40,000km and there&rsquo;s heaps of tread left, they look new. I run 40psi on blacktop and 20psi off road. Never had a sidewall fail and got in and out of plenty of mischief with no worries at all. I&rsquo;ve still gotten bogged a couple of times but only if I haven&rsquo;t lowered the tyre pressure in deep muddy wet areas.

In comparison to other Hankook tyre types i&#39;ve used over the years these were terrible verging on dangerous in respect to grip whilst breaking in all conditions. I have removed these tyres and reverted to the part worns previously fitted. There is something very wrong with the compound of these tyres.

Fitted to a 1978 Dolomite Sprint for a European endurance run. Great grip and braking - very confident drive through the Alps and on some of those crazy European motorway interchanges with tight turns. Very pleased with these tyres and will busy again for this vehicle and the modern!
